Mission
Our mission
is to make Portland Cement Concrete the material of choice for airport,
highway, industrial, street and local road pavements.
Working in partnership with its members, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter
promotes quality concrete pavements in the region by educating
specifiers, legislators and government officials about the benefits of
the locally manufactured, environmentally responsible, safe, and
cost-effective pavement investment:
CONCRETE.

History
The Northeast
Chapter, the first
affiliated chapter of the
American Concrete
Pavement Association (ACPA),
was formed in April 1987 to promote quality concrete pavements in the
13-state Northeast quadrant of the U.S. -- from Virginia to Maine. In
January 2006, to better serve our members and customers, the
Northeast Chapter
divided into three independent Chapters, which are the
Mid-Atlantic,
New York State and
Pennsylvania Chapters.
The
ACPA Mid-Atlantic
Chapter is one of twenty-four
ACPA
Chapter/State Associations in the United States affiliated with the
national ACPA
Founded in 1964,
ACPA’s
focus is on providing services in support of local Chapter programs and
in nationally promoting the benefits of concrete pavements for
interstate highways, state and county highways, municipal streets, local
roads, military facilities and airports.

Today
The Chapter
supports 41 members representing paving contractors, cement companies,
equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, ready mixed concrete
producers, aggregate producers, consultants, and affiliates. The Chapter
serves as the recognized voice of the industry and leads local
initiatives on behalf of its members.
ACPA
provides resources to assist specifiers and members with technical
expertise needed for:
- Design
- Specifications development
- Construction
- Restoration
- Rehabilitation of concrete
pavements
Our Chapter, along with the National
ACPA
works hard to represent and promote the concrete pavement industry in
federal, state and local legislative matters affecting surface
transportation.
Chapter staff members are in daily
touch with state DOT, federal, and municipal decision-makers along with
private specifiers, architects, and engineers. They routinely conduct
concrete pavement workshops, seminars, and bus tours, as well as
providing on-call technical assistance for all aspects of concrete
pavements.
In summary, the Chapter provides:
- Expert technical support programs
and services in pavement technology
- Liaison with local government
agencies, legislators and affiliated organizations
- Workshops and seminars designed to
furnish the latest technical information
- Van trips, open houses and
promotion initiatives to enhance awareness of concrete pavement
products, processes and solutions
- Pavement awards programs
